In the latest version of Gminer 2.88 the function of controlling the temperature of GDDR6X video memory, which is installed on Nvidia video cards: RTX 3070 Ti, RTX 3080, RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 3090 and RTX 3090 Ti became available. As a reminder, this is a very important parameter, since Ethereum mining uses video memory very intensively on video cards. Therefore, the hashrate on the Ethash algorithm directly depends on the performance of the memory subsystem, which is why increasing the memory frequency and reducing timings has become standard procedure when configuring a video card for mining. Squeezing the maximum performance from each video card leads to increased heating of video memory chips, which not every video card can cope with, because it was not originally designed for such loads on video memory. As a result, the user can overheat memory chips and greatly increase the chance of failure of expensive video card. Gminer 2.88 will help you control the temperature of the video memory and prevent it from overheating. It is worth noting that at the moment this feature is only available for Linux or in Linux Miner builds: RaveOS or HiveOS. The maximum operating temperature of GDDR6X memory is between 95ºC and 105ºC, depending on the batch. For more details on GDDR6X video memory, please visit the manufacturer's website at Micron.com.
