hashrate of video cards in cryptocurrency mining 2024The year 2023 turned out to be eventful for GPU mining, with the emergence of many new cryptocurrencies and mining algorithms that gained popularity and, in addition, brought good returns for GPU mining rig owners. Unfortunately, 2023 did not reveal a clear winner for the title of the best cryptocurrency for GPU mining, as Kaspa moved to ASICs, and all other projects (Karlsen, Neurai, Ironfish, Pyrin) faded as quickly as they appeared on the mining scene.

In comparison with the previous year (Hashrate of Amd, Nvidia, Intel video cards for 2023. Table.), there was a thought to replace the Beam3 algorithm in the hashrate table with something more trendy, such as Ethashb3, Pyrinhash, Ironfish, Radiant, Karlsenhash, or Ghostrider. However, looking at the current situation, the profitability on these new mining algorithms is roughly equivalent to the profitability on the Beamhash3 algorithm or simply Beam3. It's uncertain whether we can predict the future favorite, as we thought would happen with NEXA in 2023. Therefore, we'll keep BEAM3 as is and observe the battle among cryptocurrencies for the minds and hearts of GPU miners.

In 2024, the table still includes graphics cards from the distant year 2016, namely the GTX 1000 series and Radeon RX 400 (500) series, as even now these graphics cards provide a modest income from mining, considering electricity costs. The payback period for such models is currently around 3 years, so the feasibility of purchasing 6-7-year-old graphics cards for mining remains a big question. However, since these generation graphics cards are still very popular among gamers who don't mind mining when it's especially profitable, they can be conditionally called mining graphics cards.

The ETHash and ETChash algorithms also remain in the table as benchmarks for comparing the performance of graphics cards in mining on the once very popular mining algorithm. Mining cryptocurrencies with graphics cards on ETChash and ETHash algorithms can still yield a relatively small profit, even with the existence of ASIC miners. In the near future, when the number of ASIC devices for EThash increases even more, this algorithm may be completely excluded from this list.

Additionally, the table includes recently announced graphics cards RTX4070 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super, RTX 4080 Super, and RX7600 XT, presented at the CES 2024 exhibition in Las Vegas.
