The Goldshell company continues to please with its new products and this time offers for purchase an improved PLUS version of its quite successful ASIC miner AL-BOX 2 for mining the Alephium cryptocurrency. According to its characteristics, the new product offers the same level of energy efficiency of 0.5W/TH, but by increasing the energy consumption to 480W, the developer managed to squeeze a nice figure of 1 TH/s out of each ASIC AL-BOX 2 PLUS.
The cost for each GH of the new product will be about 3 USD versus 2.5 USD / GH for the regular version at 720 GH / s. But it is worth considering that AL-BOX 2 PLUS already comes with a power supply, unlike AL-BOX 2, where the power supply is purchased separately. But even taking into account the purchase of a branded power supply for 160 USD, the cost of 1 GH for AL-BOX 2 will still be lower, which is not surprising, since the most productive solutions have always been more expensive based on the invested funds per hashrate.
It is worth noting that ASIC AL-BOX 2 PLUS can be used at home, since the noise during operation is quite acceptable 35 dB.
The first deliveries of the new product will begin in September 2024.
