Bitmain today announced the new 7nm ASIC miners for the SHA-256 (Bitcoin) algorithm - Antminer S17e and T17e at 64TH/s and 54TH/s, respectively. Unfortunately, the energy efficiency of new products has remained unchanged at 45J/TH for the S17e and 55J/TH for the T17e. The increase in productivity is provided only by increasing energy consumption. The dimensions of the ASIC miners themselves also became larger.
More detailed technical data is not known at the moment, so it’s hard to say why the device hash rate has been increased: overclocking existing chips and increasing the cooling system or increasing the number of ASIC chips. Also at the moment the pricing policy is not clear, because prices for the Bitmain AntMiner S17e and Antminer T17e are currently not known. We should find out about this before the start of sales on September 9th. The first deliveries will only be in November 2019. More details about the new products can be found on the official Bitmain website. About the current Antminer S17, S17 PRO and T17 models can be read on our website.
