Conevo (EVO) is another crypto project that was forked by Monero based on the RandomX mining algorithm, although using its own modification called RandomEVO. You can test Conevo mining if you have a free central processing unit (CPU) to mine something new. Please note that although EVO is a PoW (Proof of Work) coin, it also supports masternodes and approximately 2/3 of the rewards relies on the nodes, and the remaining 1/3 goes to the miners. To mine Conevo, you will need to use a special XMRig fork called XMRig-EVO, which is designed specifically for the RandomEVO algorithm and does not support others.
There is an official pool for EVO mining, as well as another alternative pool with a higher hashrate, although most of this hashrate apparently belongs to the same owner. Coins are traded on only one little-known EREX exchange with small trading volumes. From the point of view of performance on the RandomEVO algorithm, AMD Ryzen processors will be the optimal choice of equipment for mining, since on this algorithm they show themselves better than processors from a competing company Intel. Here is a comparison of expected performance:
- Intel Core i7 6850K (6 cores and 12 threads) = 2850 H/s
- AMD Ryzen 3900X (12 cores and 24 threads) = 9800 H s.
