The latest update to the AMD OpenCL GPU miner lolMiner1.0 alpha 1 brought support for the Cuckaroo-30 algorithm, which is used to mine the Cortex coin (CTXC). For mining Cortex on NVidia GPUs, you can use the latest version of GMiner, although the new lolMiner should also work with Nvidia graphics cards through OpenCL, however, performance may be lower than using CUDA mining software. Please note that the Cockaroo-30 algorithm requires 7.6 GB of video memory, therefore video cards with less than 8 GB of memory will not work on this algorithm. lolMiner1.0 alpha 1 has a built-in developer commission of 2.5% when mining Cortex (and not 1% as for other algorithms).
Expected Cortex Mining Performance (Cuckaroo-30):
- AMD Radeon VII: 3.05 g/s (0.073 h/s)
- AMD Vega 64 2.2 g/s (0.053 h/s)
- AMD Vega 56 2.0 g/s (0.048 h/s)
- AMD RX 5700 1.85 g/s (0.044 h/s)
- AMD RX 580 1.25 g/s (0.030 h/s)
Recall that LolMiner is mining software designed to mine coins using the OpenCL library with closed source code and available only for Windows and Linux in the form of precompiled executable files. The standard developer commission for most algorithms is only 1%. The miner should also work with NVidia graphics cards through OpenCL, however, while stability and performance may not be optimal, this software is best suited for working with AMD GPUs.
