Bitdeer, previously known as a subsidiary of Bitmain for providing ASIC hosting and cloud mining services, became an independent company after the split and by the end of 2024 came to the development of its own ASIC chip for the SHA-256 mining algorithm with the help of TSMC and the subsequent assembly of its own ASIC miners for Bitcoin.
As it became known, the company has already completed testing its ASIC chip called SEAL02 with an energy efficiency of 14j/TH, which corresponds to the most advanced mining equipment from Bitmain. And it is already developing the next-generation ASIC chip SEAL03.
The ASIC miner based on SEAL02 will be called SealMiner A2 and the company itself plans mass production in November 2024.
With the help of its own development, BitDeer plans to update its mining capacity and increase its own energy capacity to 2.5 GW.
You can already reserve SealMiner A2 ASICs on the company's website. The cost of the reservation is 0.99 USD.
The company does not provide details on the technical characteristics of the finished device and the timing of its availability.
