A major manufacturer of Asic miners, Canaan, picked up the idea of home miners, which had previously been successfully tested by lesser-known manufacturers Goldshell and Jasminer. If Canaan's ordinary industrial ASIC miners are called Avalon, then for home miners, the company's marketers did not hesitate to come up with the name Avalon Home. At the start of this series, there will be two models, the Avalon Mini 3 and Avalon Nano3 S, which strongly resemble conventional home heaters.

Of course, they can also be used as heaters, but still their main function is to extract cryptocurrency. As such, home ASIC heaters have an energy efficiency of about 21-23 J/TH, which corresponds to the level of two to three years ago for industrial ASIC miners. For example, Bitmain's advanced Antminer S19XP had an energy efficiency of 21.5J/TH in 2022. At the beginning of 2025, the most energy-efficient ASIC miner model is the Antminer S21 XP Hydro

In turn, the Avalon Mini 3, with a consumption of 800W and a hashrate of 37.5Th/s, has an energy efficiency of 21.3 Th/s. And the less powerful 140W version of the Avalon Nano 3S has an energy efficiency of 23.3 J/TH and outputs a hashrate of 6TH/s.

The use of not the most advanced developments for Avalon Home series ASICs can be justified by their low price. So the Avalon Mini 3, which strongly resembles a regular household heater, is sold for $ 899, and the Nano 3S version, which is suitable for heating legs under the table, is already being offered to customers for $ 249. Of course, this is much more expensive than conventional heaters, but they can also mine Bitcoin for their owners.
