RaveOS is fundamentally changing the terms of service for its customers. Comparison with HiveOS

raveos price and compitition with hiveosOn the market of operating systems for mining, RaveOS reliably ranks second in popularity right after HiveOS, which exactly a year ago, in January 2020, reduced the number of available free mining rigs from 3 to 1, provided that the Ethereum cryptocurrency was mined, but at the same time made it possible to choose. Instead of paying for 2 or more mining rigs, the HiveOS user could switch to the HiveOn mining pool, while the fee for using the HiveOS itself was not taken, the number of connected mining rigs does not matter. A year later, from February 1, 2021, RaveOS followed the same path, radically revising its terms of service for miners.

If HiveOS, trying not to use the most honest methods to transfer its users to its own pool with increased commissions, ran into quite serious criticism, but still achieved a fairly large popularity of its HiveOn pool (15TH/s). Then the owners of RaveOS decided to do the same trick with a decrease in the number of free rigs and a free pool, but, taking into account the mistakes of their competitors, they did not create their own pool from scratch, but cooperated with the 2Miners.com (6TH/s) pool, which was already in the top 10 best Ethereum mining pools.

How such a business strategy will affect the balance of power between the two parties in the struggle to attract new and old miners, only time will tell. Now, for our part, we will tell you what will change in the RaveOS terms of service from February 1, 2021 in more detail and compare with the current conditions of HiveOS.

*** For VIP miners, HiveOS provides clear information with discounts up to 50% for 1000 or more rigs. Conclusion: After February 1, 2021, RaveOS brought its service and payment conditions as close as possible to the conditions of its main competitor HiveOS, while offering slightly more favorable conditions as before. If the situation has not changed for miners with one rig and more than 3 rigs, then the owners of 2 and 3 rigs on RaveOS now have something to think about, because you will have to choose which is more profitable: 1% commission on the pool or 2 USD per month.

The transition from RaveOS to HiveOS due to the new rules of RaveOS does not make much sense, only if you like the functionality and interface of HiveOS more. You can also consider switching to other operating systems for mining, but you will not find something more stable and functional on the market for specialized operating systems for mining.
