The company Bitmain has introduced a new model for the SHA-256 algorithm (Bitcoin) under the designation Antminer S21 PRO. Compared to last year's Antminer S21 model, with almost the same power consumption of 3500W, the S21 PRO boasts a hash rate of 234Th/s, instead of 200TH/s. Such results were achieved by improving energy efficiency from 17.5J/TH to 15J/TH.
With this energy efficiency indicator, Antminer S21 PRO is currently the most energy-efficient ASIC for Bitcoin mining. Prior to this, this title was held by the Bitmain S21 HYD model with 16J/TH. But apparently, shortly, we should expect the S21 PRO Hyd, built on the same chips but with liquid cooling and 3-phase power supply.
Technical specifications of Bitmain Antminer S21 PRO:
Algorithm: SHA-256
Hash Rate: 234Th/s
Power Consumption: 3531W
Energy Efficiency: 15J/TH
Dimensions: 400x195x290
Cooling Type: Air
Noise: 76dB
Release Date: March 2024
Delivery Date: July 2024
The cost of the improved ASIC model from Bitmain is currently unknown since sales have not yet begun, and the first deliveries are scheduled for July 2024. But it's clear that the new product is unlikely to be cheaper than the current Antminer S21 model, which is priced at $5400 USD.
