The Intel ARC B580 graphics card was introduced on December 12, 2024, and it is the first next-generation graphics card from Intel with the codename BattleMage. While in games the B580 offers good performance for its $250 price tag, a little later you will find out how this new offering from Intel performs in mining across 16 different algorithms. And whether it's worth its money when it comes to cryptocurrency mining.

Despite a 17% reduction in compute cores, overall GPU performance has increased significantly by 30%. This significant improvement can be attributed not only to architectural enhancements but also to an increase in GPU clock speed and correspondingly higher power consumption (+25%).

Compared to the previous generation, unfortunately, they have reduced not only the number of cores but also the bus width from 256 bits to 192 bits, which negatively affects the memory subsystem of this graphics card, which will also adversely affect mining on some algorithms.

Conclusion: The new mid-range ARC B580 graphics card from Intel, unfortunately, cannot boast the same success in mining as it does in gaming, as it falls short against old-timers like the Radeon RX 480, released back in 2016, in almost all algorithms. Perhaps the reason lies in unoptimized software, but since Intel's graphics cards have been around for over two years without any noticeable improvements in this area, we do not recommend purchasing the Intel ARC B580 for cryptocurrency mining.
