Goldshell has announced the world's first ASIC miner for the Alephium cryptocurrency (Blake3 mining algorithm), named Goldshell AL-BOX. Compared to even the most powerful GPU, the RTX 4090, AL-BOX boasts unparalleled specifications: 360GH/s and 180W power consumption. For reference, the RTX 4090 has a hash rate of only 6GH/s and consumes 350W. Thus, in terms of energy efficiency, the ASIC for the Blake3 algorithm surpasses the most advanced GPU by a factor of 116.
Technical Specifications of Goldshell AL-BOX:
Algorithm: Blake3
Hash Rate: 360GH/s
TDP: 180W
Energy Efficiency: 0.5 J/GH
Noise: 35dB
Dimensions: 198x150x95mm
Price: $9000
Delivery Date: May 2024
As before, Goldshell will release an ASIC with low noise levels, making it suitable for home mining. However, the profitability is far from modest and, according to preliminary estimates, even exceeds that of behemoths like the Bitmain Antminer KS5 PRO, priced at $35,000.
The key here is to be one of the first to incorporate the Alephium ASIC into mining operations. With the gradual introduction of such ASICs in large quantities, the network's hash rate will quickly increase, followed by complexity. As is typical with the introduction of the first ASICs for a new algorithm, profitability sharply decreases and could drop by an order of magnitude within the first month of sales, i.e., by a factor of 10.
