IceRiver has announced sales of an entry-level ASIC miner for the SHA512256D algorithm, i.e. for mining the Radiant cryptocurrency. The new product is called RXD RX0, has a hashrate of 260GH/s at 100W of power consumption. Cooling is passive, which gives a zero noise level and is suitable for home use.
IceRiver, releasing RXD RX0, followed the same path as it did when the first ASICs for Kaspa (KAS KS0 ) appeared. However, the relevance of such ASICs remained for a very short time and literally after half a year, the payback of KAS KS0, due to the emergence of more advanced devices for mining on the kHeavyHash algorithm, began to tend to infinity. If the history of the development of ASICs for Radiant is just as rapid, then RXD RX0 will face the same fate of rapid obsolescence. And the point in buying such a device will be only at the start of sales, in order to have time to get the maximum profit before the difficulty of mining Radiant has time to skyrocket.
