AMD and NVIDIA GPUs benchmarks on ProgPow algorithmMost recently, we already talked about a new mining algorithm called ProgPow and the Bitcoin Interest coin (BCI), which is extracted from this algorithm. Today we decided to conduct a quick test of the performance of various AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards on this production algorithm, including the new NVIDIA Turing GPUs (GTX 2080 and 2080Ti).

To carry out the test, we used Windiws miners for AMD and NVIDIA. All tests were conducted at stock frequencies without overclocking.

The performance of video cards from AMD on the ProgPow algorithm.

  • AMD Radeon RX 550 = 1.5 MHS/sec.
  • AMD Radeon RX 560 = 3 MHS/sec.
  • AMD Radeon RX 580 = 8.2 MHS/sec.
  • AMD Radeon VEGA 56 = 20.5 MHS/sec.
  • AMD Radeon VEGA 64 = 23 MHS/sec.

The performance of video cards from NVIDIA on the ProgPow algorithm.

  • NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 3gb = 8 MHS/sec.
  • NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1070 = 10.9 MHS/sec.
  • NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1070 Ti = 11.7 MHS/sec.
  • NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 = 16 MHS/sec.
  • NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 Ti = 21.5 MHS/sec.
  • NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2080 = 22.5 MHS/sec.
  • NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2080 Ti = 34 MHS/sec.

From the test results it is clear that the production productivity on the ASIC-protection algorithm ProgPow perfectly scales and correlates with the gaming and computing performance of video cards. It is also worth noting that the new GPUs from NVIDIA showed themselves worthily in the mining on the new algorithm, overtaking their predecessors as 1080 and 1080 Ti by 40-60%.
