On February 20, 2025, the RTX 5070 Ti graphics card went on sale. It is classified as a mid-range solution among Nvidia’s Blackwell generation graphics cards, although the term “budget” is hardly applicable to the recommended price of $749.

Since we are primarily interested in the capabilities of graphics cards for cryptocurrency mining, we will also evaluate the RTX 5070 Ti from this perspective. However, given the tests of the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 in mining, it is obvious that we should not expect any miracles from it.

As with the older models RTX 5080 and RTX 5090, the biggest performance gain compared to the previous generation in the RTX 5070 Ti is provided by the new GDDR7 memory. For the RTX 5070 Ti, the new memory provided an immediate 77% increase in video memory bandwidth, while the GPU added only 11% in raw computing power. Since the energy efficiency of the chips remained approximately at the same level, the main gain in mining can be expected only on algorithms that intensively use this memory — ETCHash, autolykos and others.

Conclusion: as expected, the RTX 5070 Ti demonstrated high energy efficiency in mining on memory-dependent algorithms (ETChash, Autolykos2, Kawpow), exceeding even its older siblings in the Blackwell generation in this regard, as it has a more balanced number of CUDA cores in relation to the bandwidth of the video memory subsystem. For other mining algorithms, the advantages of the RTX 5070 Ti are not so obvious, but in any case, it is a good graphics card for cryptocurrency mining and most likely the RTX 5070 Ti will be the optimal solution in terms of price per megahash (taking into account the recommended prices for graphics cards), as was the case with previous generations of Nvidia graphics cards.
