Bitmain has announced the first SHA256 ASIC capable of mining Bitcoin with a hashrate of 500TH/s. It's called the Antminer S21 XP+ Hydro, and compared to the previous version of the S21XP Hydro, the new product not only provides a higher hashrate (500 TH/s versus 475 TH/s), but also offers higher energy efficiency of 11J/TH versus 12J/TH for the S21 XP Hydro. In other words, you have a new leader in the energy efficiency of Bitcoin mining in 2025.

Despite the fact that the first ASICs for the SHA-256 algorithm appeared more than 10 years ago, engineers continue to improve mining equipment at a fairly noticeable pace. For example, the threshold of 100TH/s was overcome very recently in 2020-2021.

Bitmain is releasing the Antminer S21 XP+ Hydro with record-breaking performance and once again confirms its leadership in the ASIC miner market.
